This course is designed to equip students with the fundamental concepts and practices associated with the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) standards, emphasizing their application in cybersecurity contexts for space missions. The curriculum aims to prepare learners to effectively mitigate and guard against potential or active threats to space platforms, encompassing activities such as the collection, analysis, and geolocation of system data to identify, locate, and monitor adversarial targets. Students will gain proficiency in navigating networks, conducting tactical forensic analyses, and implementing directed on-net operations, all critical for managing continuous threat exposure to space platforms. The course structure includes a comprehensive set of learning objectives tailored to develop a robust foundation in CCSDS standards and their cybersecurity applications. Specifically, the program outlines 48 knowledge objectives, 30 skill objectives, six ability objectives, and 28 task objectives. These objectives are meticulously designed to align with the NIST National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) framework, specifically targeting the Cyber Effects (CE) Cyber Operations (CE-WRL-001) work role. Moreover, the course integrates cutting-edge learning technologies, including an AI-CoPilot for ongoing adaptive learning and an Extended Reality (XR) platform for immersive Threat Emulation Exercises (TEX), offering students an unparalleled learning experience in space cybersecurity.
Offensive Security Fundamentals for Space (O-SF2-S)™
Mitigate and protect against possible or real-time space platform threats. Conducts collection, processing, and geolocation of systems to exploit, locate, and track targets. Performs network navigation and tactical forensic analysis and executes on-net operations when directed. This role is responsible for space platform Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM). This training orbit is aligned with the CCSDS framework for space data systems. You will also be introduced to 44 knowledge objectives, 26 skill objectives, four ability objectives, and 26 task objectives focused on the NIST NICE Cyber Effects (CE) Cyber Operations (CE-WRL-001) work role. Defensive Security Fundamentals for Space (D-SF2-S)™
Responsible for analyzing data collected from various cybersecurity defense tools to mitigate risks to space platforms.
